Artist Information

Andie Kosak

My name is Andrée "Andie" Kosak. I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, but have lived and thrived in Athens, Georgia most of my life. Athens is a small college community (University of Georgia) about 60 miles northeast of Atlanta.

I studied ceramic arts in the late 70's, concentrating on functional stoneware & porcelain. I operated my own pottery studio, "Andrée's Studio," and peddled my wares through regional arts and craft venues. I learned fused glass and the use of dichroic glass from Jackie Paciello-Truty at the Glass Craft Expo in Las Vegas where I also furthered my training in stained glass with classes by Linda Abbott, Tommy "G" Giambusso and Pamela & Mark Wallace.

Cindy Jenkins and James Kervin deserve a tremendous amount of credit for my discovery of and self taught beginning with molten glass. I have since trained under Pam Dugger, Loren Stump, Larry Scott, Kristina Logan, Stevie Bell, Leah Fairbanks, Brad Pearson, Jeff Barber, Jeri Warhaftig and Heather Trimlett. The wealth of information and generosity of the glass crafting community in sharing their vast knowledge of glass continues to amaze me.

I am teaching Beginning and Advanced Glass Beadmaking at Art Glass Emporium in Winder, Georgia on a regular basis.

I have been a contributing author and featured artist for Corina Tettinger's Spotlight publication and the author of the featured Bead Artist tutorials for Stained Glass News.

I am a member of the International Society of Glass Beadmakers (ISGB), Southern Flames (Southeast Regional ISGB)

As co-owner of a fairly large, well established catering company, Trumps Catering, in Athens, Georgia, I am only able to devote myself to my addiction of the glass world part time.
